Friday night, November 17th, Ukrainian firm APowerCap Technologies beat 15 other companies to win this year’s business plan competition at the Silicon Vally Open Doors Technology conference. APowerCap produces an ultracapacitor, a high-power energy storage cell, which is supposed to extend battery life by as much as 400%. The ultracapacitor has the potential to provide new life to a wide array of items such as laptops or hybrid electric vehicles. The technology has been evaluated by the Institute of Transportation Studies at UC Davis.
Ukraine was also well represented by several other start-ups including: Siteheart and Invisible CRM.
