Read an interesting article in the last issue of the Global Services Magazine: Fast, Clean And Cheap.
I do agree that many companies try to make the process of offshoring more complicated than it really has to be, especially when they are just getting started and have never done it before. The author lists some very simple aspects to keep in mind such as; phase deployment, and start simple then move to complex. Some of the items may seem to cancel each other out such as Phase deployment on one hand and Aggregate by Location. You may not be able to do phase deployment if all of your processes are located in one location and you want to follow the mantra of “aggregate by location”.
In any case it is still a good read and good to repeat to yourself when offshoring for the first time, keep it simple!
